CURRENT TRENDS IN AUTOMOTIVE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AT THE REGIONAL LEVEL

Abstract. The relevance of the study of the development of automobile tourism is due to a complex of factors of a macroeconomic, social and infrastructural nature. In the context of globalization and increasing population mobility, automobile tourism acts as a catalyst for regional development, providing a multiplier effect for related sectors of the economy (hotel business, roadside service, food industry). In addition, in the post-pandemic period, there is a steady trend towards individualization of tourist experience and deurbanization of tourist and recreational f lows, where personal vehicles become the dominant means of transportation, providing social distance and flexibility of routes. The study of the patterns of placement of autotourist flows and the optimization of the infrastructure framework are of particular importance in the context of the implementation of the spatial development strategy of the Russian Federation and an increase in the tourist accessibility of the regions. The purpose of the study is to identify patterns and trends in the development of automobile tourism in the regions of the Volga Federal District and in the Orenburg Region. Methods and materials: an information and analytical method was used to determine modern trends in the development of automobile tourism at the regional level. This approach allows a comprehensive and efficient analysis of the patterns of development of automobile tourism, combining data from various sources and providing an understanding of the consumer behavior of modern automobile tourists. The results of the study present the starting conditions for the development of automobile tourism in the Orenburg region, the main directions for the development of automobile tourism in the region are determined, among which the authors distinguish: automobile domestic tourism, inbound automobile tourism, transit automobile tourism and automobile tour in the Orenburg region as part of the interregional auto tourist route, and a set of practical recommendations has been developed to activate and stimulate automobile tourism in the region.
