THE FORMATION OF THE INSTITUTIONAL ENVIRONMENT FOR TRADE INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract. The state of trade and the level of its development are largely determined by the formation of the institutional environment, which allows to ensure commodity security, accelerate the processes associated with the digitalization of business processes. In this regard, we believe that the assessment of the state of the institutional environment of trade in Russia is an urgent task that requires theoretical understanding and practical study.

The purpose of the study is a retrospective assessment of the institutional environment in trade. To achieve this goal, such methods as analysis and synthesis, tabular and graphical, SWOT analysis were used. The main results of the study are as follows: firstly, the systematization of the main institutions of trade; secondly, it is determined that the strength of innovation in trade in accordance with the SWOT analysis is the intensive development of modern information technologies; third, the reasons for the development of information technologies are the increase in the efficiency of trade activities and legislative initiatives of the state. The findings will be useful for researchers in the field of Economics and management of commercial enterprises, as well as for employees and specialists of state institutions and agencies in the development of a strategy for digitalization of trade, the formation of a new institutional environment of the trade industry
