A significant share in the cost of transportation is the cost of materials for maintenance of cars. When planning the need for resources, it is necessary to ensure uninterrupted supply, as well as avoid unnecessary reserves, increasing the value of circulating assets. The solution of the problem of resource consumption planning is complicated by the variation in the demand for them during the year. In this connection, the aim of the research, the results of which are described in the article, is to increase the efficiency of the use of cars by developing a methodology for planning the needs of road transport enterprises in maintenance materials, taking into account variations in intensity and operating conditions.

When performing the research, the method of harmonic analysis, a random method of statistical studies, a passive experiment were used. To achieve the goal on the basis of statistical data, the actual costs of special liquids, replaced or topped up at maintenance. As a result of the research, regularities of the change in the flow of cooling liquids, hydro-brake fluids, hydraulic oils during the year were revealed, and a methodology for planning the demand for them was developed.

The specified technique is intended for planning of requirement of the motor transportation enterprises in resources for performance of maintenance, its use in practice will allow to reduce stocks of resources, and also to exclude idle times of cars because of their absence.
