BELIEF AND KNOWLEDGE IN THE SYSTEM OF PHILOSOPHICAL VIEWS OF B.N. CHICHERIN
The article examines the views on the problem of the correlation of faith and knowledge in the works of the outstanding Russian thinker B.N. Chicherin, whose 190th birthday is celebrated in 2018. In the field of the author's attention is included both the direct disclosure by the philosopher of these concepts and their correlation, and its significance for the logical justification underlying the truths of Christianity. Also touched upon are issues closely related to the solution of the problem of faith and knowledge in Chicherin, namely the polemic against, on the one hand, the materialistic teachings, on the other hand, «mysticism in science» of V.S. Solovyov. The author comes to the conclusion that Chicherin belongs to the number of thinkers who defended the «harmony» between faith and knowledge on the basis of the mind as an application of the laws of formal logic
