THE HISTORICAL CONTEXT OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE PERSPECTIVE PAYMENT SYSTEM IN RUSSIA

Abstract. One of the most significant events in the development of the modern Russian economy is the creation of a Perspective Payment System (PPS). The scope of the payments and settlements made now is striking in its scale, and the expected results from its use determine the genuine interest from both the direct participants of the payment turnover and the scientific researchers.
The purpose of this article is to offer the author's periodization of the development of faculty, which will make a contribution to the study of the processes of forming a full-fledged, competitive national payment system.
To achieve this goal, the features and factors that determine the development vector for each stage of its development were identified and analyzed, and the main directions for further qualitative growth were determined. Despite the relevance inherent to the topic, the area of questions considered in the article is not distinguished by a high degree of knowledge, which in turn increases the significance of the study.
In the process of research, methods of comparative and factor analysis, detailing and generalization, systematization, tabular method of statistical analysis were used.
The materials of the article may be useful to researchers of the problems of development of payment systems in the further development of this topic.
