DIGITALIZATION OF BANKING – THE WAY TO CREATE A «BANK OF THE FUTURE»

Abstract. The idea of creating a bank of the future is not new, but as an achievable reality has become realized in the last decade in connection with the rapid process of digitalization of the economy and banking, in particular. The digitalization of the economy is recognized as one of the main tasks of Kazakhstan's development, as evidenced by the development and adoption of the state program, which meant specific tasks facing society, the population, entrepreneurs and the government. This approach reflects not only the domestic needs of the country, the need and importance of digitalization due to global trends. Especially active processes of informatization and digitalization occur in the financial and banking sector, due to the requirements of acceleration and efficiency of cash flows. Based on this, the article describes the trends in the processes of informatization and digitalization of banking in Kazakhstan against the background of the processes taking place in the world. The example banks shown opportunities in the provision of banking services in terms of innovation and digitalization. The article presents certain achievements in the development of banking activities with the use of information and digital technologies, shows some innovations in the application of innovations in electronic payments, bank cards. At the same time, it is emphasized that there is a lot of work to be done so that our banks can compete with the banks of developed countries both in terms of the volume of operations and in terms of their digitalization. Currently, Kazakhstan has a number of new directions and innovative products that bring domestic banks to the level of leading foreign banks, some of them are described in the article. These products are important for banks and customers, because, on the one hand, provide opportunities to expand the coverage of population and business services without opening additional offices, on the other hand, allow you to use many services without visiting the bank remotely. The author comes to the conclusion about the fundamental changes in banking due to digitalization, as well as the possible transformation of the modern bank in the ‘Bank of the future’ in the long term.
