Abstract. The relevance of this research is determined, on the one hand, by the demand from economic entities for the digitalization of planning processes, and on the other hand, by the need to develop methodological approaches that ensure the availability and quality of data for such planning.
The aim of the study is to justify an approach to data digitalization to support end-to-end work planning in machine-building holding companies.
The research methods include general scientific approaches (analysis, synthesis, and systematization), modeling tools (entity-relationship diagrams, data flow diagrams), as well as applied practices (service-oriented IT management, lean production, and the theory of constraints).
The research results are presented as a developed iterative-incremental approach to data formation within the end-to-end planning system on a digital platform. The approach includes the classification of planning data at all management levels within holding companies; systematization of losses at planning data processing stages and methods for their elimination; determination of maturity stages of reference information at all planning levels (subdivision, enterprise, holding) as part of a unified digital planning platform; and establishing the relationship between the effectiveness of planning data, the digital end-to-end planning platform, and the production value creation chain. Based on the approbation conducted in Russian machine-building holdings, various results were obtained, including a significant improvement in production discipline in meeting order deadlines and inventory reduction, as well as increased engagement in planning via the digital platform.
The proposed iterative-incremental approach holds theoretical significance for the development of methods for organizing planning and forming the relevant data on the digital platform of industrial production holdings, as well as practical relevance for helping enterprises achieve desired business outcomes.
Future research directions lie in the area of deeper integration of operational and product planning within a single enterprise-wide digital platform.
This study may be recommended to a wide range of researchers and specialists involved in the study and development of intra-firm planning processes.
Key words: digitalization of planning, holding company, end-to-end planning system, digitalization of data, mechanical engineering, planning data.
