Abstract. The article deals with the educational phenomenon of "ontological pedagogy", in the context of which the most profound and multifaceted, "existential" scale of the development of the human personality, endowed with cultural qualities of personal creativity. In social terms, the criteria "ontological pedagogy" meet the challenges of becoming a man of culture," and teaching is defined ontologically significant act.

It is noted that in the classical paradigm of philosophical thought of the twentieth century, education in its most important moral and educational traditions gave rise to the existence of man in culture, his need to think and awareness of the unity of the picture of the world.  Today, however, in the conditions of total information space, the very existence of a person, his freedom, his will, his cultural choice is becoming a thing of the past, and the principle of personality formation is removed from pedagogical practice.

Meanwhile, the practice of "ontopedagogy" for half a century successfully implements the goal: to form in the learning process a number of conditions for the discovery of the student is not just knowledge about the world, but for the insight of themselves, through the images of culture and moral motivation, their spiritual depth, their capabilities of personal and ideological categorical transformation.

Therefore, it is this pedagogical concept, centering the phenomenon of "man of culture" in ontological meanings and correlating with it the content of the educational process, focuses on the search for the essential, and not the accompanying meanings of personal and social life, actualizes the change in the value of changes in the consciousness of personality, human awareness of life and the role of culture in it.

Keywords: ontologicalpedagogy, "man of culture", educational tradition, humanistic paradigm, pedagogical model.
