ON THE ESSENCE OF THE APPROACHES TO THE DEFINITION OF «INTELLECTUALIZATION OF THE ECONOMY»

Abstract. The relevance of the studied problem is caused by the fact that in the majority of modern scientific works intellectualization of economy is considered as an axiom against the background of which there take place social and economic transformations in modern society. However process of intellectualization needs a separate subject research as the independent phenomenon. 

The purpose of article is identification of trends and an entity of intellectualization of economy that will allow to make a contribution to studying of processes of generation of knowledge and their embodiment in material and non-material forms.

An analysis of the existing interpretations of the concept of “intellectualization of the economy”, an analysis of the dynamics of statistical data on educational levels of the population from 1959 to 2015 is used.

The analysis of the existing treatments allowed to divide them into approaches, to reveal key elements of definitions of "intellectualization of economy" and to develop the definition suitable for use in the economic theory. 

Materials of article can be useful to researchers of problems of the economy based on knowledge; to heads of the enterprises and bodies of the strategic planning of intellectualization of economy, state at implementation.
