IMAGE AS A RESULT OF GENERALIZATION OF SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE
The purpose of the article is to present the results of the study of generalization as a general scientific operation. It is a type of despecification. It is argued that generalization is a way of representing a certain class of objects through a characteristic individual representative of this class. The image obtained during the generalization of scientific knowledge is considered as one of the ways of the existence and translation of knowledge into the space of culture. Images obtained as a result of generalization are considered as products of human creative activity. They are a synthesis of the general and the individual, rational and sensual. It is argued that the scientific picture of the world contains images obtained as a result of generalization. They contribute to the understanding of complex scientific theories. Generalization is compared with typification, the purpose of which is to create an artistic image. The conclusion is made about the identity of the ways of obtaining a generalized image, both in science and in literature.
Keywords: generalization, representation, image, translation, understanding.
