Current trends in the youth labour market and its interaction with the higher education system, the characteristics of participants in this market, their «economic behavior» today can have a special influence on the domestic economy. In this regard, the purpose of this article is to introduce the youth labour market as the situation of the internally antinomic phenomenon and the study of approaches to its resolution through the description of the expectations of graduates of humanitarian directions of preparation of Ural Federal University. By means of a method of questionnaire the empirical material received during studying of opinion of student's youth aged from 19 up to 23 years on base Ural Federal University in Yekaterinburg is analysed.
The research urgency is caused by the presence of graduates of some of the problems associated with the elimination of young people the threshold of «study-work» because of the mismatch of labor markets and educational services. The discrepancy between the two markets was reflected in the creation and implementation of «professional standards», on the one hand, and the elimination of the word «professional» (relative to education) in the modern Russian legislation and the name of higher education institutions, on the other hand. The results of the study showed:
1. There are three groups of economic behavior types (namely, pragmatic behavior strategy, professional strategy, and economic strategy of indifference) among the humanities graduates of Ural Federal University.
2. Main preferable areas of work for the humanities graduates are mass media, advertising, travel industry, politics, and public management. Education, science, consulting service, economy, and IT technologies are less popular.
3. Career prospects and real salary are considered to be main criteria for job selection. Goodwill of the company and its propensity to innovate are less important. Social safeguard and the company proximity to his/her home are taken into account very seldom.
4. In the future most graduates prefer relying on themselves and their personal relations rather than on social institutions dealing with personnel management to find employment and professional realization.
